SONDE

Spatial Oracle Network for Decentralized Environments

The Problem: Your phone constantly generates valuable data (location, WiFi signals, cell towers, network quality). Tech companies collect it, sell it for billions. You get $0.

The Solution: Install SONDE. Earn $5-25/month in crypto. Same data. You get paid.

1. What We Do

SONDE is a mobile app for Solana Seeker devices that collects anonymized sensor data in the background. Users earn cryptocurrency tokens. We sell the data to enterprises. Simple.

Seven Data Streams

Data Type What We Collect Privacy Protection
Cell Signal RSSI, RSRP, RSRQ, network type No PII, just signal quality
WiFi Network density, signal strength SSIDs hashed (one-way)
Bluetooth Device count only No MAC addresses stored
GPS Approximate location Fuzzed to ~100m radius
Motion Walking, driving, stationary No tracking, just state
Barometer Atmospheric pressure Anonymous
Network Speed Latency, bandwidth No browsing history

Collection frequency: Every 5 minutes, automatic.
Battery impact: Less than 2% per day.
Data usage: Approximately 10MB per day.

Hardware Attestation (TEEPIN)

Seeker devices have a secure enclave that cryptographically signs each data submission. This makes the data unfakeable. Enterprises pay 3-10x more for attested data because they can trust it. This is our moat.

2. Where The Money Comes From

We sell data to five customer segments. This is not theoretical—these companies already buy this data from competitors, often at higher prices for worse quality.

Customer Segment 1: Telecommunications ($50K-500K/month)

Buyers: Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, American Tower, Crown Castle, tower companies.

What they buy: Cell signal quality data—RSSI, RSRP, RSRQ, signal-to-noise ratio, network type (5G/LTE/4G), coverage maps.

Why they need it:

Current alternatives: Telcos hire contractors to drive around cities with specialized equipment ("drive testing"). Cost: $50,000-$100,000 per city. Done once per year. SONDE provides continuous, real-time data at a fraction of the cost.

Precedent: OpenSignal built exactly this model. Crowdsourced cell signal data from 10+ million users. Acquired by Ookla (Speedtest.net) for $100+ million in 2018. OpenSignal didn't pay users anything. We do.

Customer Segment 2: Internet Service Providers ($20K-200K/month)

Buyers: Comcast, Spectrum, Verizon FiOS, municipal broadband projects, wireless ISPs.

What they buy: WiFi density maps, internet speed measurements (latency, bandwidth, jitter), coverage quality.

Why they need it:

Current alternatives: Speedtest by Ookla, customer surveys, FCC broadband maps (notoriously inaccurate). ISPs spend millions on network analytics.

Customer Segment 3: Transportation & Logistics ($10K-100K/month)

Buyers: Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, logistics companies, navigation providers (Google Maps, Waze, Apple Maps).

What they buy: Movement patterns, traffic density, motion state (walking/driving/stationary), route optimization data.

Why they need it:

Precedent: Google Maps generates $5+ billion per year, primarily from location data. Waze (acquired for $1.3 billion) was built on crowdsourced traffic data. The market is proven.

Customer Segment 4: Retail & Marketing ($5K-50K/month)

Buyers: Retail chains, shopping malls, marketing agencies, foot traffic analytics firms (SafeGraph, Foursquare, PlaceIQ).

What they buy: Foot traffic counts (Bluetooth proximity), dwell time, visit frequency, customer flow patterns.

Why they need it:

Market size: Location intelligence market is $15+ billion annually. Companies like SafeGraph and Foursquare raised hundreds of millions to sell exactly this type of data.

Customer Segment 5: Weather & Climate ($5K-30K/month)

Buyers: Weather.com, AccuWeather, NOAA, climate research institutions, insurance companies.

What they buy: Barometric pressure readings, temperature, atmospheric data at hyperlocal resolution.

Why they need it:

Precedent: Weather Underground (acquired by IBM) built a network of home weather stations. Crowdsourced weather data is valuable and proven.

Revenue Model: Simple Math

How money flows:

  1. Enterprise pays SONDE for data access (USDC or $SONDE token)
  2. 70% goes to data contributors (users)
  3. 30% goes to protocol (operations, development)
  4. Users receive tokens automatically each month
Timeline Customers Monthly Revenue User Split (70%) Protocol (30%)
Month 6 2 pilots $30,000 $21,000 $9,000
Year 1 5 paying $100,000 $70,000 $30,000
Year 2 15 paying $500,000 $350,000 $150,000
Year 3 25+ paying $1,500,000 $1,050,000 $450,000

Example (Year 1):
10,000 active users contribute data.
Enterprise revenue: $100,000/month.
User share: $70,000/month.
Per user: $7/month from revenue sharing.
Plus token emissions: ~$10-15/month.
Total per user: $17-22/month. Target achieved.

3. Why Enterprises Will Pay

Reason 1: We Have Hardware Attestation

Every data point from a Seeker device is cryptographically signed by a secure enclave (TEEPIN). This means:

Competitors cannot replicate this without access to Seeker hardware. This is our defensible advantage.

Reason 2: Cost-Effective Alternative

Current enterprise costs:

SONDE provides better data, real-time, at lower cost.

Reason 3: Coverage & Density

150,000+ Solana Seeker devices already sold. Users carry phones everywhere: homes, offices, highways, rural areas, international travel. Fixed sensors can't compete with this coverage.

Reason 4: They Already Pay For Worse Data

This is not a new market. Enterprises currently buy:

SONDE combines all of these, adds hardware attestation, and costs less. Switching is obvious.

4. Token Economics

Token: $SONDE (SPL token on Solana)
Total Supply: 1,000,000,000 (fixed cap)
Decimals: 9

Distribution

Allocation Amount Percent Vesting
Community Rewards 600,000,000 60% 10 years
Ecosystem Fund 150,000,000 15% 5 years
Team & Advisors 100,000,000 10% 4 years, 1yr cliff
Investors 75,000,000 7.5% 3 years
Liquidity 50,000,000 5% Immediate
Treasury 25,000,000 2.5% As needed

Emission Schedule

Community rewards emit over 10 years, halving every 2 years:

Years Daily Emission Annual Emission
1-2 164,384 60,000,000
3-4 82,192 30,000,000
5-6 41,096 15,000,000
7-8 20,548 7,500,000
9-10 10,274 3,750,000
11+ 10,274 3,750,000

Burn Mechanism

Enterprises can burn $SONDE tokens to purchase "Data Credits":

Equilibrium: By Year 2, enterprise burns should exceed emissions, making the token deflationary. This supports long-term price appreciation.

Price Projections

Period Users Token Price Market Cap User Earnings/mo
Month 6 2,000 $0.008 $640K $15-30
Year 1 10,000 $0.02 $2.2M $10-25
Year 2 50,000 $0.05 $8.5M $20-40
Year 3 100,000 $0.15 $30M $30-60

Note: These are conservative estimates based on comparable projects (Helium: $300M, Hivemapper: $150M, NATIX: $40M). Our hardware attestation and multi-sensor approach justify similar or higher valuations.

5. Competition

Project Market Cap Data Type Hardware Cost User Effort Attestation
Helium Mobile $300M 5G hotspots $500+ High Yes (LoRa)
Hivemapper $150M Street imagery $500 dashcam High (driving) Yes
NATIX $40M AI dashcam Phone app Medium (driving) No
OpenSignal $100M exit Cell signal Phone app Low No
SONDE TBD 7 sensors $0 (Seeker) Zero (passive) Yes (TEEPIN)

Our Advantages

  1. Passive Income: Users do nothing after installation. Helium and Hivemapper require active participation.
  2. No Hardware Cost: Uses existing Seeker devices. Competitors require $500+ purchases.
  3. Multi-Sensor: Seven data types. Competitors focus on one or two.
  4. Hardware Attestation: TEEPIN is stronger than software-only verification (NATIX) and competitive with LoRa (Helium).
  5. Proven Market: OpenSignal validated demand. We improve on their model by paying users.

8. Risks & Mitigation

Risk: Low User Adoption

Mitigation: Aggressive early adopter incentives (5x rewards), marketing through 150K Seeker owner base, referral program, partnership with Solana Mobile team.

Risk: No Enterprise Customers

Mitigation: Free pilots reduce barrier to entry. Market is proven (OpenSignal, Google Maps). Sales rep with industry connections. Flexible pricing.

Risk: Battery Drain Too High

Mitigation: Extensive optimization and testing. Target <2% per day. Allow users to customize collection frequency if needed.

Risk: Regulatory Issues

Mitigation: Privacy-first design (GDPR compliant from day one). Legal counsel engaged early. No PII collected. Decentralized governance (DAO) reduces regulatory surface area.

Risk: Token Price Collapse

Mitigation: Dual revenue model (emissions + enterprise revenue). Treasury buybacks. Burn mechanisms. Staking locks to reduce sell pressure.

9. Why Now

  1. Solana Seeker Adoption: 150,000+ devices sold. Target market exists and is growing.
  2. DePIN Trend: Helium ($1.5B peak market cap), Hivemapper ($150M), Render, others proving DePIN works.
  3. Data Privacy Awareness: Users increasingly want to be paid for their data. Web3 ethos aligns.
  4. 5G Rollout: Telcos need coverage data urgently. Billions being spent on 5G infrastructure.
  5. Proven Market: OpenSignal exit ($100M+), Google Maps ($5B/year revenue) validate demand.
